Can you believe that it’s summer already? If you do, then you are foolish! The first day of summer is next week. That means next week, I will be compiling all of my blogged songs into an easy-to-manage little playlist for all of y’all. So I’ve been looking at the songs I’ve been posting, most of the artists are guys. That’s okay though, right? Ladies, I got your back. This week I thought I’d balance it out with a couple songs with more female vocal presence, and some Dudes too.

Hey what’s up? I’ll tell you whats up, Calgary, a new song from  Bon Iver (pronounced en francais as bonne hiver), from their upcoming second (self titled) album. Check it out, it’s a great song, and it’s named after my favorite city in the whole world! Good for them for showing the #YYC some props.

Good song from Calgary’s own, The Fast Romantics latest EP, Kidcutter. If you like what you hear, go ahead and buy it. It’s only 5 bucks on iTunes. It’s totally worth it!

Music Monday! Song of the Week : Dissembler by Woodhands.

The song features Maylee Todd. As much as I love this song, it is very unlike the rest of the album, Remorsecapade. It’s very poppy, kinda like Hot Chip meets Shout Out Out Out Out. The rest of the album is very electro synth rock which I didn’t hate, but I didn’t find myself loving it, not wanting to listen to it over and over again. At the Sled Island Festival this year in Calgary, I heard they put on an amazing energetic live show. So the next time they’re in town, I wouldn’t mind checking them out.
