Once again, the fucktards at Faux news are at it again. On a talk show called Red Eye with Greg Gutfeld that airs on FOX at 3 AM (evidently because this guy and the rest of his cronies are somehow all completely ignorant morons, and not even FOX would give them a better time slot) a panel discuss a story about how Canadian troops are taking a hiatus due to personnel and equipment shortages. However, instead of using any kind of journalistic approach at all, the crew mock every aspect of the story including everything from joking about the Lieutenant-General’s girlie last name, to using every tired Canadian stereotype there is.
I can understand if this is meant to be satire. The Daily Show is brilliant satire and it’s acclaimed for it’s level of witticism. But this? Why is this lowbrow, bottom-of-the-barrel shit even allowed to be on tv? It’s the type of ignorant right wing drivel that makes my eyes roll and my fists clench with rage. There was an episode of How I Met Your Mother on yesterday that coincidently had Canadian jokes but they were actually fresh and not the same old one liners you would typically hear when you mention that you’re Canadian when traveling to the U.S. Needless to say, last night’s episode walks all over this sad attempt of a show at being original at all or funny. Okay, let’s say that it is (hopefully) in fact satire. Their material is WEAK. It seems like they googled “Canadian Jokes” and took turns reading them on the air. If there was a drinking game based on this show, where you drank every time one of the following happen, you’d be totally wasted. Keep in mind, this is a 4 minute segment :
- Senseless American egotism
- Blond floozy being taken seriously
- Pothead (who is most likely stoned) being taken seriously ( I now understand why the show is called Red Eye!)
- Actual mentions of Sarah Palin (really…) in a somewhat positive way
- Some douchebag that would get his ass handed to him by a mounty, makes a joke about Mounties
- Jokes about how cold it is in Canada
- Racist “joke”
- Morons discussing non issues
This show is a total joke. It is still infuriating as hell to see that even in 2009 we have this garbage on TV. This guy is a complete fucking hack. Don’t even get me started on how sad it is that they are boasting about their military deployment.
