I was in Idaho last week so I definitely did not post anything on Monday. I’ll make up for it by giving you a few new songs today.
Fleet Foxes - Helplessness Blues
This is from the new album which I really, really, really like. As far as I’m concerned, it is one of the best albums this year. It came out last week, so find it if you like what you hear.
Beastie Boys - Make Some Noise -
This is from the new album Hot Sauce Committee pt 2 which I have been patiently waiting for for about 4 years now. They were due to release an album last year, but at this time Adam Yauch (MCA) came down with a touch of cancer. All better now. The Beastie Boys have been one of my favorite artists growing up and the fact that they are still releasing consistently good music after so long is a true testament to themselves as musicians.
Also check out their short film released at the same time, Fight For Your Right Revisited,written directed and produced by Yauch and stars Seth Rogan, Elijah Wood, Danny McBride as the Beastie Boys from the past and Will Ferrel, Jack Black, John C. Reily as the Beastie boys from the future. It seriously has more cameos than a Muppet movie from the 80s. I t doesn’t make any sense but it is pretty funny nonetheless.
tUnE-YaRdS - Bizness
In a way this girl is kind of like a white Reggie Watts from New England On stage, she creates unrehearsed drum loops and just goes from there. Cool stuff.
Foster The People - Houdini
I talked about a song by these guys called Pumped up Kicks last week but I’m really into these guys. They are blowin up! New album comes out at the end of the month and a lot of people are excited.
