So I watched the Producers the other day, a 1968 Mel Brooks musical comedy. Kinda gay, right? I don’t think so. a) It was funny as hell. Really funny. B) It had gay people in it acting really gay. Now I would consider that as partly ripping on gay people for the following reason : Gay people are considered a minority group, right? Asians are also considered a minority group too ( which doesn’t really make sense since they’re pretty much 1/4 of the population, but let’s just go along with it for the sake of the argument. They’re a minority group in Canada. ) Now, if I saw a bunch of Asian people in a movie acting really Asian, (take any Jackie Chan movie ever made), I’d be mad as hell. I have to constantly remind myself that I was nothing like that stupid little kid in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. Short round. God i hated that kid. So in this way, The Producers can’t be a gay movie if they’re making fun of gay people.
I’m also planning to watch a bunch of movies I’ve yet to see, so I’m making a list. If there are any movies that you think i should watch, let me know.
