I cruise around to this song in the summer. It’s old and I heard  it for the first time in a while off of Tyler the Creator’s summer camp mix, but it still carries some sentimental value. Junior high. Young love! All I can say about that.

I know this song is pretty much beat to death at this point BUT this is a remix done by a guy I actually know. He’s just finishing high school and clearly, he’s very talented. He turned this song into an awesome dance song. Also, he has a kickass turban.

Trouble On My Mind (Ft. Tyler The Creator) - Pusha T

I’m afraid to blog about Tyler the Creator. He hates bloggers. I am a HUGE fan of his music however, and I don’t give a shit. He’s just a kid who is living his dream, making music with people that he idolizes. Who can say that about themselves? He’s incredibly humbled and the shows for OFWGKTA are insane. They make “40 year olds rapping about Gucci” look downright stupid. This song is tight. Only rapper I know who references The Rugrats.

I wrote this while sitting on the Prairie Chicken hill at the University of Calgary and there were a couple of things I realized :

1.       Having the internet outside is probably one of man’s coolest creations. The university is so nice in the summer. It’s too bad that we can’t have this weather all the time.

2.       Can I see my screen in direct sunlight while wearing sunglasses? Not really. Do I look super cool while looking busy on a laptop outside? Eh, probably not actually.

3.      So many UGG boots. UGG! I’ve decided that I will only accept the wearing of UGG boots in the summer if you are otherwise completely naked.

4.       Girls are catty and gossipy.  Shut up you two over there. No one cares. Yeah, you. OH Shi— they see me! Try and look busy and cool.

I have 2 songs today. Neither of them are really new.

The Tallest Man on Earth –Burden of Tomorrow 

This song is actually off the latest album by the TMoE which came out in 2010 and I find that every time I listen to this album I find a new song that I love.

So the first day of summer is tomorrow. If you’re like me, you’ll be busy celebrating the summer solstice by dancing around a bonfire for several hours and making animal sacrifices to your various pagan deities. If blindfolding a goat and shoving it off into a quarry isn’t your cup of tea, then I have a milder alternative for you. You can kick back, listen to some tunes, and enjoy the longest day of sunlight. Sounds awesome either way, right? To make it easier for you, I even made a playlist. How convenient and thoughtful! Can you believe that it’s summer already? If you do, then you are foolish! The first day of summer is next week. That means next week, I will be compiling all of my blogged songs into an easy-to-manage little playlist for all of y’all.
