Happy late (Canadian) Thanksgiving! In my head, Canadian Thanksgiving is the story of the Canadian version of Christopher Columbus, Jacques Cartier, force-feeding pumpkin pie to a turkey while native Canadians thank him for helping them harvest yams. Classic. I am thankful this year for my excellent memory for Canadian history.
I’m experimenting with HTML5 audio tags so check that out in the near future. I honestly don’t know what I’m doing. Check out the songs below!
Dr. Dog - The World May Never Know
Ryan Adams - Lucky Now
Bon Iver- Your Love (The Outfield Cover)
This was my favorite song from Grand Theft Auto Vice City. I sang along to it every time it came on the radio in the car that I just jacked.
Bombay Bicycle Club - Always Like This
Ben Lee - American Television
Danger Mouse and Daniele Lupi - Black (with Norah Jones)
You might recognize this song from Sunday’s season finale of Breaking Bad. It was at the very end of the episode. Really good.
Justice- Newlands
From their new album Audio,Video,Disco due out very soon. Doesn’t really sound like Justice, but they were trying out 70s style Rock for this album. I like it.
The Kooks - Eskimo Kiss
One of the few songs that I like from their new album. It’s only OK.
Tyler The Creator - She (ft. Frank Ocean)
It’s an R n B song. Cool. Frank Ocean’s voice is so smooth.
I have a whopping 11 songs today. Ok, 11 isn’t really a lot but I’ve always wanted to use the word ‘whopping’ but never understood it’s use as an adjective. Someone please explain it to me.
Anyways, here are some songs that have been on repeat recently. I’m a big fan of all the artists. Girls and St. Vincent have released incredible new albums which you should definitely check out if you like what you hear.
Alex Turner of The Arctic Monkeys and The Last Shadow Puppets released an EP for a movie called Submarine a few months back and I’m still in love with it.
The Ratatat remix is super old, so is the Arctic Monkeys song, but I got to see them live this week. I almost punched someone in the throat because it was so awesome.
I also am into covers of rap and RnB songs done by alternative artists.
I posted this playlist to 8track.com which is a neat little website and app that let’s you listen to user submitted playlists. Link right here peep that shit.
The Temper Trap - Love Lost
Aidan Knight - Jasper
Girls - Honey Bunny
St. Vincent - Cruel
Jay-Z and Notorious B.I.G - Allure (Ratatat Remix)

The Arctic Monkeys - Fluorescent Adolescent
The Joy Formidable - Whirring
Yeasayer - Crazy (Seal Cover)
Angus and Julia Stone - Paper Aeroplane
So I’ve been neglecting this blog pretty good. If this blog were a baby, it would probably be out picking up girls while buying groceries for the family. Oh? Did you think neglecting babies would lead to bad things? Wrong friend, my babies would be smart, independent and resourceful. Anyways, it’s fair to say that summer is very much over. I start my last year of University today, on my way to bigger and brighter things.
It’s been a crazy summer, reflected in this quarterly music playlist, which is all over the place. Since I pretty much skipped like 4 weeks of posting music, I figured I would just give out the full playlist now, JUMBO SIZED. It’s a good one though. It’ll probably take more than 1 session to listen to the whole thing. Track list below.
DOWNLOAD HERE. OR CLICK ON THE ALBUM ART BELOW
Extract the files.
Then open the 00Bawahong’s Summer 2011 Playlist.m3u file and you should be good to go!
